Mrs. Simon is a longtime supporter of St. Vincent Health, a mission-based, values-driven, alliance of healthcare providers. Serving the poor is an integral part of the alliance’s mission. $30 Million Indiana Property Will Be Used as Basis for Endowment to Support Songbook Foundation’s Mission
CARMEL, Indiana (January 4, 2018) – Today, in a continuation of her support for the arts and artistic endeavors, philanthropist Bren Simon announced the donation of her 107-acre Asherwood Estate in Carmel, Ind. to the Great American Songbook Foundation. While the donation was made with no restrictions on the use of the property, it holds enormous promise as a potential museum site and as the basis of an endowment to support the Songbook Foundation’s mission. Mrs. Simon’s gift includes a fully furnished 50,000 square foot main house, a 6,000 square foot guesthouse, an 8,000 square foot clubhouse, several other structures, and two golf courses.

A food drive by the Aspen Board of Realtors for LIFT-Up got a super-sized boost Monday.
Bren Simon of Carbondale isn’t a real estate agent but she heard about the foodraising effort and decided to help — in a big way. She purchased what turned out to be five pallets of food from Costco and had them delivered to the warehouse for Carbondale’s branch of LIFT-UP, the nonprofit that operates food pantries in the towns of the Roaring Fork and Lower Colorado River valleys.

[Hidden Valley, CA] [October 22, 2013] – The Ride On Therapeutic Horsemanship annual fall fundraiser, hosted by Bren Simon at her home in Rancho de Caballos in Hidden Valley, raised significant funds to support the organization and its scholarship program. Actress Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were the honorary event chairs.
Ride On teaches horseback riding to children and adults with physical and mental disabilities and provides therapies to individuals using the movement of the horse to improve specific medical conditions.
Generous Gift Establishes the Melvin and Bren Simon Digestive Diseases Center at UCLA
A multimillion-dollar gift has allowed the UCLA Division of Digestive Diseases to provide patients with an innovative home health program; supported new, minimally invasive treatment procedures; and funded state-of-the-art gastroenterology research. The funding has helped the division deliver the highest level of care to patients and offer novel approaches to medical therapies.
